History lovers will find fertile ground in the Val d’Aosta for their passion. Unmissable is a visit to the medieval fortifications and castles, rising majestically in an almost fairy-tale landscape. Fènis Castle, Issogne Castle and Ussel Castle are truly worth a visit. You can even walk along the Via Francigena, the oldest medieval road that used to link the Alpine areas with the capital city, where you can still admire Roman ruins.

For the foodies

The culinary traditions of Val d’Aosta offer a delicious world to discover and taste. If you decide to holiday here, you simply cannot miss the chance to visit a typical restaurant to taste a true fondue made with fontina valdostana DOP, polenta concia, civet di camoscio, typical soups and the characteristic desserts and sweetmeats of the area.
